Job requirements

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and highly motivated Domestic Cleaner to contribute to the high standards of premium housing and supported living services for vulnerable adults who suffer from mental health and living in a supported housing environment. You will have relevant hands on experience and qualifications with an ethos of continuous improvement to achieve exceptional high standards. This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours/week, based across multiple sites.


Key Requirements

  • To clean all allocated units and offices, including furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment.

  • To clean sanitary and other equipment, with particular attention to guidelines for the control of germs and infestations.

  • To deal with waste bags including clinical waste.

  • To work in accommodation with the Accommodation Manager in maintaining standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the supported accommodation.

  • To work to the identified and agreed cleaning schedules, without intruding on tenant's preferences.

  • To have an understanding of health and safety issues, i.e. COSHH, manual handling and cross infection, as well as an understanding of social legislation i.e. 1983 Mental Health Act.

  • Strong command of the English language - both written and verbal.

  • Good computer skills and digital dexterity.

  • Self-motivated and able to use own initiative to find solutions.

  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload.

  • Warm and friendly demeanour with a positive and open-minded attitude.

  • Thirst for knowledge, strive for excellence, and a humble posture of learning.
